Global supply chain and electronics manufacturing event SEMICON Southeast Asia will be returning to Singapore in 2025 for its 30th anniversary, after having been held in Malaysia since 2015.

Over 18,000 delegates are expected to attend the event at Sands Expo and Convention Centre from 20 to 22 May 2025, said industry association SEMI Southeast Asia in a statement on Wednesday (7 Aug).

Themed “Stronger Together”, it will provide an overview of the latest industrial developments, trends and innovations, as well as critical areas including efficiency, artificial intelligence, chip technology, and workforce development.

The event is returning to the country that is at the “heart” of the Southeast Asian semiconductor industry, and known for its innovation and technological prowess, the statement said.

The step also emphasises Singapore’s important role in the global semiconductor ecosystem, it added, noting the Republic’s dynamic business environment, strategic location, and robust infrastructure.

Singapore provides an “ideal platform for industry leaders, innovators, and decision-makers to gather, exchange ideas and drive the future of semiconductor technology”, said Linda Tan, President of SEMI Southeast Asia.

Cindy Koh, executive vice president of the Singapore Economic Development Board, noted that the semiconductor industry is a “major cornerstone” of Singapore’s economy, accounting for more than eight per cent of gross domestic product and employing more than 35,000 workers.

Added Yap Chin Siang, Singapore Tourism Board’s deputy chief executive: “Organising SEMICON Southeast Asia 2025 provides a platform for Singapore to showcase the country as a safe, stable and thriving hub for business and innovation, fostering an open exchange of ideas, perspectives, and knowledge.”
