In Singapore, McKinsey’s 300-strong workforce has helped to drive national priorities, such as contributing to the Economic Strategy Committee of Singapore, as well as drafting the blueprint to create key national institutions including the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy.
In 2012, the McKinsey Innovation Campus (MIC) was established to position Singapore as a leading knowledge hub for the region. Launched in partnership with the EDB, the MIC is emblematic of McKinsey's commitment to delivering ground-breaking knowledge to help companies in Singapore and across Asia address their toughest challenges. Through a Consumer Insights Centre, Centre for Government and a Productivity Sciences Centre, amongst others, the first phase of the partnership developed cutting edge insights on public services delivery, consumer behaviour, manufacturing, and productivity.
The next phase of the Campus focuses on new growth areas arising from digital disruption, leveraging innovations to McKinsey’s business models to bring the latest analytics and design capabilities to Singapore. This includes the establishment of McKinsey’s Digital Capability Centre (DCC) in Singapore, in partnership with the Advanced Remanufacturing and Technology Centre (ARTC).
The DCC Singapore sits at the forefront of the ‘Industry 4.0’ transformation, working with established manufacturers and entrepreneurial start-ups to shape the digitally-enabled factory of the future. Phase 2 of the MIC will also feature a studio housing McKinsey’s integrated design capabilities as well as a Centre of Excellence on Advanced Analytics.
These new investments reflect McKinsey’s growing commitment to Asia and its success in leveraging the expertise of its diverse Singapore office to partner clients in developing transformative solutions and services, and even new businesses.
